Family Time In Lousiana

We recently were in Louisiana visiting family. Marcus mom had only seen Malakai once so we decided to go for 5 days. The weather was wonderful in the high fifties up to 60. We really enjoyed the break from the cold. We spent a lot of time visiting family and friends. Malakai traveled great- had to keep him entertained at times. Thankful for movies or netflix:)

Malakai's 1 year Pictures

Oh how he loves to look at himself!
This first year with Malakai Theodore has been so wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a better child! He is so easy going, loves people, loves balls and electronics. We are regretting the electronics thing because he's always messing with our phones or computers. It's such a privilege being his parent and am so excited to be there as he grows up. We've had people prophesy over him and he is going to be a worship leader and he has a brilliant mind. I can't take credit for none of that so we give glory to God! This year of 2014 we are believing for many great things to come for our family. We are so blessed and am humbled to serve a God who always loves us no matter where we fail. He's blessed us with good health, wonderful family, church and ministries.

Cousin Time!!

Isn't this adorable?

We were home for my Grandpa Gramm's 89th Birthday Party and Lexi caught this adorable picture! Her boys, Carver and Brooks just love Malakai. They asked their parents the other day if they could get one of those dark haired babies!! I'm so excited for in a couple years when they can be running around the farm together.

So sorry it's been so long since I've posted. 2012 ended miraculously for us in 2012. On November 11th as I was shopping after church, all of a sudden it felt like I wet my pants:) I continued to shop and went over to my friend Jocelyn's house. As I walked into her house I leaked again. I figured that my water had broke so I called the nurse. She said to wait an hour and so after the football game ended, we went to go pack! We got there around 4 p.m. and they checked me and verified that my water did break. So we were admitted. I had no contractions at the time. Around eight they injected me with somthing to get contractions going.By morning they still weren't going strong like they were supposed to. By 7A.M. they gave me petocin which increased the contractions. I was only dilated by a 3. By 1 I had decided to get an epidural. The pain was so strong and was having strong contractions about every minute. I was checked about every hour and I never went past a 5. So around eight they decided to do an C-Section. I was thrilled at this point. I was 29 hrs in and just ready to see our little son! C-Section went smoothly and to see our little son born was the best moment of my life. It is such a little miracle! I now understand how God loves his children unconditionally. The moment I saw Malakai I fell in love with him!

This is a picture of my Grandma Gramm with Malakai when he was a two weeks old.

Isn't he a spitten image of his dad? :)

Renew

Where your mind goes- your heart follows...  Doing this bible study, "Battlefield of the Mind" it's reprogramming your mind. It's been so good but so hard. It's all about Resetting your Mind. When those negative thoughts or self pity creeps it's way in, its time to get into the Word and speak Life into your body!
Think like God thinks
Say what God says otherwise
There is no hope of having victory in your life!

2 Corinthians  5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

YOU ARE NOT WHAT YOU FEEL BUT WHAT YOU BELIEVE!

Thank HIM

It's been two weeks since I last posted. Marcus just got back from being gone 1.5 weeks. So thankful he made it back safe and had a succesfull trip.

I'm learning how to overtake my mind and Let God heal me. It's my job to guard my heart with diligence. "Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life.
It's our responsibility to guard our heart and if we have negative thoughts or feelings we need to cast them over to the Lord . Speaking scriptures over in my life have helped me overcome this. But this is a battle that we need to seek God help for daily!
The attitude we have in the wilderness determines how long we'll stay!
A big reminder for me is to STOP talking about my problems. It doesnt' help to complain or worry. The more we talk about our problems the longer we will focus on the negative. We need to Think Less and Thank More!!! And you also can't be pity and powerful at the same time.
The lord has planned for us a good and plentous life. We need to trust him with ALL and when things aren't going our way we thank him for what he HAS blessed us with.

ROMANS 12:1-2

I have started a women's bible study at my house. We are studying "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyers. It's all about learning how to manage your emotions and putting negative thoughts aside and speak the word into your life.

Last week we studied Romans 12:1-2. This is our theme verse! "Therefore, I urge you, brothers in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is- his good, pleasing and perfect will.

My co-leader Jocelyn did a study on Romans 12 earlier last year. The book she studied gave five areas that women struggled with. Competence, Belongingness, Security, Appearance, and Worthiness! aw, just reading those turns my stomach. It's so true that we struggle with at least 2 of these. Big ones for me are Competence and Worthiness.
Here is what they had to say how to pray competence into our lives:

Competence- I am a competent person, equipped by the Holy Spirit to carry out God's will in my daily life in a way that pleases Him, regardless of what stage of growth I may be in at the present, my real importance in life i
s connected with the  way I am touching people's lives with the love of God and message of Christ. Phil 2:13; 4:13- For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Ephesians 2:10- For we are God's workmanship created in Christ Jesus to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

I just pray for all you women out there that you can lay your struggles at Jesus feet and speak HIS word into your life! Jesus conquered our sin and these issues. We need to trust in his word and BELIEVE IT!!!!
